A New firmware 10-0720 has been delivered by OPPO Usa at http://www.oppodigital.com/opdv971h_support.html
Latest Major Firmware Release
MVer: 05.00.01.07 Batch: 10-0720
Release Date: July 28, 2006
Summary of Changes in This Release:
1. Improved handling of "forced subtitle" for DVD discs
2. Improved disc compatibility
3. Improved audio/video synchronization (previously included in the F-0316 beta firmware)
4. Eliminated Chroma Up-sampling Error (CUE) for component output
5. Improved resume play function
6. Improved DivX video playback functions
7. Output resolution display
8. Enhanced front panel dimmer control
9. Skip function for digital music files
Could we have this firmware modified for FAT Black remote for OPDV971H-E ??

Many people wanted the oppo 0720 firmware for their BLACK FAT remote. We have the firmware ready now.
All 0720 release notes mentioned above are valid for this one too. Just the support for the silver bluish remote (latest) was removed and replaced by the big fat remote codes.
Also on screen the version will report 0720C.
Remember, this version defaults to NTSC and VIDEO1, you have to switch to PAL by stopping all DVD operations and the enter setup and press the left button to change NTSC to PAL.
We hope to have the PAL release soon available too. (Difference will be default to PAL, not much else..)

Hi.
There seems to be a bug in this version. Before I upgraded (using 0302), I had the Angle option set to "on". I upgraded to 0720 but even though I now set the angle option off, I always see the annoying camera mark when angles are available.
How can I turn it off?  |

| It does. I don't think any firmware "forbids" the scart signal. Seems that it works great on my euroscart version. My only problem is the angle thing I mentioned before. |

Current 720 from oppo does bluish and silver remote, our patched version does the big fat eu remote.
Future EU releases will be made available when possible. |

Hello, 
I was wondering how difficult could it be for you to also provide us with a Fw. 0720 patched for use with a Silver Remote Control!
I compare the original file released and your own ... there is not much differences... i have noticed two majors (others are cosmetics)
and the very end of the file :
Could you be kind enough and give me some hints or the sequence to make the firmware works straight away with the Silver Remote Control!
So we will be all treated equally !!

If you care to read the instructions from oppo you should know that when you do the remote switch trick you can switch it to silver.
Stop > stop > keep stop pressed, then it switches? old or new remote? |

New RC to Old RC and Old RC to New RC function :
1. Switch on the player & display
2. Close the empty drawer
3. Wait for the "No Disc" msg on the display
4. Press on the player the STOP button 5 sec then release it
5. An msg "Old RC" briefly appears on the left upper side of the display
5bis. If you repeat the same, you return to the initial mode : a msg "New RC" briefly appears on the left upper side of the display
For each Fw release, there is an "Old to New" and a "New to Old" RC function :

Hello i am a new member and i real newbie .
I have the silverbluish remote (sweden) and wonder if Firmware_971h-11-0830.iso would work on my player??
Its say on the Oppodigital site that its only for the silverwhite remote only but were do i get the latest fw for my (sweden) silverbluish remote??

Hello i have the 971h-10-0720 firmware,, and i wonder if i upgrade to the latest relaese 21 september fw,, If my remote nr2 will be powerbuttom?? With the firmware i have today its not.
I have the (silverbluish remote) Sweden.
plzzz help me!!!
